Dina Zaman
Artist & Storyteller
As a woman and an artist, my work is deeply connected to the myriad moments I have experienced. Over the years, through conscious practice, I’ve come to understand that every emotion has its own unique, magnetic quality—especially as a woman—and it has become my muse. The stories of women, as they share their lives and experiences, shape my journey. When I listen to them, their words resonate with me, stirring my imagination and guiding my artistic expression. I feel deeply connected to these shared life experiences and the emotions that weave through them.
I believe that many of these women possess incredible strength and power, though they may not always recognize it themselves. It’s this innocence and unawareness of their own strength that drives me to create. Through my art, I hope to offer them a mirror—to help them rediscover and reclaim their inner power. Drawing from their experiences, I’ve developed my work to focus on the struggles and resilience of women, believing that this exploration can illuminate a path to understanding our collective strength.
In every piece I create, I tell a part of my own story—one filled with struggles, triumphs, and everything in between. My art, like me, grows with each day as I nurture and protect the emotions that drive it. I invite my audience to connect with my work, to share in these emotions and stories so that together, we can draw strength from one another. I believe self-enlightenment, accompanied by the nurturing strength of motherly love, is key to healing ourselves and the world. This is a strength only a woman can carry in her tender yet powerful heart.
I explore various techniques and mediums in my work, including oil, acrylic, charcoal, pastels, pencils, and ink. I also incorporate textiles and fabrics to add texture and depth, allowing my audience to feel more engaged with the art. My own hands and body play an intimate role in the creation process, deepening my connection to each piece. I consider myself a work in progress, continuously evolving through my practice, as I cannot imagine life without my art.
